Mobieltjes en nieuwe ontwikkelingen

In Barcelona wordt momenteel Het Mobile World Congress gehouden, waar fabricanten hun nieuwste mobieltjes tonen. Een filmpje van PC World is te zien op http://www.pcworld.com/video/id,434-page,1-bid,0/video.html.

Al eerder schreef ik over Android, het open platform operating systeem voor mobieltjes. Op de beurs zijn verschillende fabricanten die prototypes laten zien.
In het artikel "Android Comes to Life in Barcelona" (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,142369/article.html) wordt geschreven: "Google's Android software platform for mobile phones is coming to life in Barcelona, with a number of chip manufacturers showing it running on prototype or proof-of-concept phones at the Mobile World Congress today.

Freescale, Marvell, NEC Electronics, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments all had Android on show. Most of them expect to see Android phones based on their chips on the market in the second half of this year."

Er is so-wie-so een tendens om het mogelijk te maken, makkelijk applicaties te ontwikkelen voor je mobieltje. In onderstaand filmpje een demonstratie hoe dit gedaan wordt voor Android.

Apple's plan to release a software kit that lets people create legitimate add-ons for the iPhone could make the device appeal to an even wider audience.


Op dit plaatje is een applicatie te zien: Virtual rock star: An iPhone owner plays a virtual guitar. Shinya Kasatani developed software called pocketguitar that lets a person play a guitar by pressing and strumming the phone’s touch screen. Apple has not approved pocketguitar, like many other third-party applications made for the iPhone. However, this month the company is planning to release a software development kit that will allow developers to make legitimate applications.
